Seven Lakes Chinooks

After many years of owning Chinooks, Seven Lakes is proud to announce their first litter.  Born on July 9th and 10th, mom is Ch. PR Frontier Dandelion Sky and dad is PR Alpine Trefenwyd of Moonsong (Tay).  Five boys and two girls are thriving under the care of Sky and Sky's aunt, Grand Ch. PR WoodsRunner Lady Rain.

There are two silvers, (which will change to Sky's Silver tawny color) four tawnys (the usual golden red brown chinook color), and one of the boys is a fascinating "blue" color.  The pups are named (for now at least) after the seven lakes that surround our home near Smokey Point, Washington:  Goodwin, Ki, Shoecraft, Loma, Cranberry, Howard, and Martha.  Girl pups Martha is silver tawny and Loma is tawny.  Our boys Goodwin, Shoecraft, and Cranberry are typical tawny with black markings and Ki is silver tawny like mom.  Howard is a fascinating steel blue boy, a color that hasn't been seen before in Chinooks to the best of our knowledge.  But Chinook pups go through dramatic color changes so who knows what colors they will all be when they grow up.

For now, the pups are eating and growing at a rapid rate and keeping Susan and Ron Schoener on their toes.  Sky is a great first-time mom and Ladybug is fascinated with the little ones.  It definitely helps having an experienced mom dog around to help Sky out and Ladybug will be even more helpful as they grow.

Visiting hours are by appointment and will start when the pups are three weeks old.  Applications are at www.rainmountain.net if you are interested in a pup (only boys will be available).  You can also eamil Susan at sfshemeta@aol.com.

Sky and pups at  2 days old

Pups show both dad Tay's dark tawny coloring and Sky's silver tawny.  Howard (bottom center sleeping) however is a beautiful steel blue gray all over.

Eat, sleep, and eat some more

Tay (PR Alpine Trefenwyd of Moonsong) was born in Washington but spent ten months in Florida before coming back to the Northwest
