Since all of us want to know the same things about prospective homes for our pups, we've combined our questions into a single form. Please copy the following list of questions and your answers into an email. There are no right or wrong answers but please give as much information as you feel will be helpful. You will notice that this is the same questionnaire for multiple Chinook breeders. This is because first and foremost, we are all friends. Second, we share information about prospective homes based on who has pups planned, what each home is looking for, and which pup will best fit to each home.

For 2007 the following litters are planned:

Moonsong Chinooks is planning a litter for late 2007 and has males at stud.
Springcreek is considering a litter for fall of 2007 and is still determining which stud will be best. Some of the Springcreek males will be at stud beginning late 2006 and pending health clearances
Rain Mountain has males at stud but is not planning a litter until 2008.
Laughing Mountain Chinooks is expecting a litter in February 2007 and is currently taking applications.
Frontier Chinooks is planning a breeding for early 2007 which would mean pups in the spring.
Seven Lakes Chinooks will have PR Seven Lakes Goodwin at stud after he passes his health clearances.

If you are interested in a specific litter, you can email your answers to that kennel email addresses bellow or you can forward it to our general mailbox and we will share the information among all of us. If you have already filled out an application with another Chinook breeder not included in our group here, feel free to forward that application rather than filling out the one below as most of the questions other breeders have will be the same as what we are asking here.

We do have some basic requirements for all homes:

You must have a fenced area of some sort. This can be either a fenced yard or a smaller kennel run. Let's face it, there are times when you want to put your dog out so you can mop the floor.
We will not place two littermates in the same home nor will we place Chinook pups in a home where there is another dog that has been there less than one year. This is because we feel it is important that each dog be able to bond with its family and receive basic training before the next dog joins the household.
If you are under 18 or live with other people, everyone in the household must be in favor of getting a Chinook.
All pups are placed on co ownerships. Pups that are sold as pet quality will be kept on co ownership until they are spayed or neutered and proof is supplied to the breeder. Pups that are show/breeding potential are kept on co ownership until the terms of the ownership agreement are met.

Part II. The Animals in Your Life

3. For each of the dogs above, if it not still living with you, please let us know what the circumstances were. For example, passed away, had to be re homed, etc. (Note that giving up a dog for various reasons is not a negative. I have had to give up dogs myself for various reasons over the years.)

Part III. Why a Chinook?
1. Have you met Chinooks and their owners? If so, please tell us about this experience. (Note, if you have not yet met a Chinook, we will ask you to visit someone in your area so that you can meet the dog, talk with the owners, and decide if this is really the breed for you.)
2. Why do you want a Chinook? What personality traits do you hope your Chinook has?
3. How many hours a day will your Chinook be alone while family members are at work and school? How will you contain your Chinook during this time?
