When Tay became the first Moonsong Chinook to sire a litter, I could not resist taking a pup. Brett had flashiness and attitude, even as a baby, and I was looking for a show dog.  He finished very quickly and with the flourish of a Best of Breed award, making him a Champion when he was just six months old.

Dogs that young are not ready to be campaigned in the world of conformation showing since they aren't yet mature enough to seriously compete with the adult dogs, even if they're the world's greatest pup.  Instead Brett started harness training, first with a wheeled rig over the spring and summer, then with the sled as snow began to fall shortly after he turned a year old.  He inherited his sire Tay’s strong work ethic and his dam Mocha's great strength.  This combination made him a natural sled dog and from somewhere within him developed a HUGE working drive.

Under harness, Brett is tireless and has amazing speed, endurance, and ability.  He has an amazingly (almost overly) friendly, outgoing temperament and loves children and other dogs.  When an aquaintance of mine lost her scooter dog, I loaned her Brett until she found a replacement.

Brett loves to run so much that he now does so as a full time job with Daphne Lewis of www.dogscooters.com; Brett is her demo dog for the dog-powered scooters and sulkies she sells and he loves every minute of it.  When he's older I'll bring him back out to show again but for now he is enjoying life as a professional working dog.  Hopefully he'll be able to complete his UKC Weight PUll title soon.

Brett is available for stud service with approved females.  Contact Carie Taylor of Moonsong Chinooks for more information.
