Chili is fearless and a genius, not an easy combination to live with in a dog.  Not only can she open my second-story bedroom window, she has no fear of jumping out and has!.  Even as a professional dog trainer, I have my hands full with her.  But I enjoy a challenge and she certainly fits the bill!  She excels at sledding, conformation showing, agility, and competitive obedience.  She finished her Championship in a single weekend of shows and finished her Grand Championship in the following two weekends of showing.

The biggest challenge in living with Chili is keeping her from being totally bored.  She hates repetition of any kind and always would rather be trying something new.  This made training her for formal competitive obedience challenging since it involves repetition of some rather boring exercises.  When we're sledding, she wants to go down new trails that we've never tried.  Luckily with agility, at least the order of the obstacles is always different.  When she's bored, Chili does things like open the door of her crate, then open all the various doogs of the kennel I work at, trotting along the halls until she finds me.

Chili is very athletic and conformationally correct.  She has the gait of a dog that can run or trot all day without ever loosing steam.  She's not only a UKC Total Dog* but is also the total package.  I thoroughly enjoy having her in my pack and my other dogs worship her-- of course being Chili, she feels worship is justly deserved.

Many thanks go to Donna Canfield of Cloudburst Chinooks for placing Chili with me.  Thanks also go to Marra and Neil Wollpert who were kind enough to transport Chili from Donna's home to meet up with me at the UKC Premier in Kalamazoo, Michigan in June of 2004.  They became fans of Chili then and have fgollowed her various antics since.

*Total Dog is the UKC's recognition of dogs that win both Best of Breed **AND** also qualify in
a performance event at the same show.  Chili was able to get two qualifying legs towards her UKC
Weight Pull title and won Best of Breed at the Cascade APBT show in Longview, Washington
during Thanksgiving weekend of 2005.  Needless to say, I was very proud of her.

June of 2005 on my parents' boat in upstate New York

Sharing a nap with me.  Of course the
Queen of Moonsong sleeps on the bed!

Both Chili and I were frustrated by the lack of
snow during the winter of 2004/2005

Swimming at my parents' vacation home in
Upstate New York.  Lolo is in front, just leaving
the camera's range

Chili manages to be in constant motion
though without being hyper.  She just has
a lot of eneergy and likes to show off her
jumping abilities.

In the line-up for Best in Show at the Volcano
View Rat Terrier Club show in Vancouver, Washington.

In the fall of 2006 Chili was bred for the first time.  Sire of her upcoming litter is Ch. PR Springcreek's Lambeau Leap (aka Brett) and pups are due approximately December 11th.  All have been spoken for but visitors are always welcome when I have pups.  For more info on the Moonsong "Football" litter, please follow this link.
