We're Proud to Announce the Arrival of the long Awaited Offspring of

The Courtship
Ginger and Indy hit it off from their very first date.

The Pups

Nine weeks after the above "date and wedding" Ginger easily delivered a litter of eight.  Five girls and three boys joined the world on the morning of Friday, August 31st.  Karen and her husband Ralph are both doctors but Karen swears that they forgot all their medical training for a brief moment when they saw the first pup arrive.  Ginger is being a dutiful mom and the pups are growing.  All the pups ranged in size from a small of ten ounces up to fourteen ounces.  Considering that Ginger is not a big Chinook girl, those are very healthy weights.  All are tawny except the one honey-colored boy called Moose.

From roughly left to right:
Green/White ribbon is Irish, a 14 ounce male who
joined the world in the driveway while his mom was walking off her labor pains.
Red/Green is Molly, needless to say, a girl.
Red/White (top left) is a female named Bubblegum.
Red/White/Green is Sparkle,m a female, who was the last one.  We thought
there were just seven pups and that Ginger was done only to be surprised
by Sparkle arriving after Ginger'd taken a long nap.
Moose, the blonde boy, has no ribbon since he stands out from the crowd.
The Green ribbon (whom Moose is sleeping on) is Emerald, a female.
Male pup Streak has a Red ribbon you can't see in this photo.
Stretch (White ribbon), a female, is the smallest of the pups at just 10 ounces but growing.

Moose, the first born and biggest, along with being
the only blonde, is already an assertive pup.

The Details

Sadly, with only dial-up Internet access, getting photos back and forth is in the Dark Ages.  But those we do have show some fat and handsome babies.  More news to follow.  The pups' pedigree can be viewed here

If you're interested in a pup, please forward the completed questionaire to info@rainmountain.net.  We're actively searching for just the right homes.  Ideally, you want a loving pet for your family, who'll follow you around the house and enjoy walks or the occasional romp in the country.  If you like winter sports, one of Ginger and Indy's kids would be perfect.  Both enjoy recreational sledding and are eager pullers.  Even one Chinook can pull a small child on a sled and you can harness your dog in with other Chinooks at regional Chinook events.  Both pet and show/breeding homes are sought.

Thanks for visiting.  Come back for updates often.
